Grey formula

The formula, torn from a notebook belonging to Robert Hutchins

The Grey formula is a chemical compound the Greys use to reduce gravity and alter the composition of an atmosphere. If released into the Earth's atmosphere in a sufficient quantity, it would transform it into one suitable for them, but not for humans.

Discovery[]

After a news report was released stating the Alien Tracker Peter Bach was the victim of a crash and died in an ensuing fire, Sheriff Mike starts getting complaints about an abandoned black van parked on the sidewalk. Deputy Liv says that it must be Peter's. He suggests they just wait while Ernie comes from the tow yard. She agrees, however, she takes off with the vehicle. When Ernest came to pick up the van, it wasn't there and neither was she. At the sheriff's office, Sheriff Mike approaches Deputy Liv. Deputy Liv eventually tells him that the van is safely in her garage. He tells her to listen to him, that she wants her to get the van to impound immediately. She tells him that she's keeping the van.

Sheriff Mike and that Deputy Liv will process it. As Mike and Liv investigate the van, they discover a hidden compartment, and they just have to figure out how to open it. He finds the magnet he's using to clip the images to the board is unusually strong, asking Liv where she found it. She tells him it was stuck to the desk. "What desk?" he asks and they run footage of Joseph Rainier (a Grey-human hybrid who secretly infiltrated their department) going through the bag and the magnet falling out. The magnet opens the hidden compartment in the van, revealing a notebook that appear to contain some sort of extremely advanced chemical formula.

The two decide to take the formula to Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, believing that he must know chemistry, but unaware that he is secretly an alien himself who is fighting the Greys. Mike shows him the formula and he thinks to himself that it is a compound with an alien element, one used by the Greys. He tells Mike, however, that it's sugar. When Mike points out that it's rather long for sugar, Harry claims that it's a special sugar, the kind used to make chocolate sauce that traps ice cream in a hard shell. Harry memorizes the formula, thinking to himself that the formula may be the key to the Greys' plan.

Revelation[]

Harry obtains most components he needs for the formula, but he still needs the Grey element. He raids a Grey spaceship to obtain it, as it contains a Carbon-15 isotope not found on Earth. Back in his cabin, Harry thinks to himself that chemistry is a delicate balance and that when you mess with it, things explode. The formula is complete. He is then visited by the boy Max Hawthorne, who wants his help with a school science fair project, said science fair happening that day. Harry refuses, distracted by both his project and his ongoing romance with a Blue Avian woman named heather. He and Heather retreat into his bedroom. When he comes out, he curses, discovering Max has taken his model caldera and the beaker containing the formula.

At school, Max sets up the model caldera, assisted by his friends Leo and Mari. He has also made a cardboard sign reading "WHAT IS A CALDERA?", Harry's beaker sitting next to it. Seeing Harry, Max suggests "How about a demonstration?" He pours the compound into the caldera. Harry thinks to himself that he is too late. As the caldera hisses and bubbles, he runs outside and pulls the fire alarm. While everyone flees, Harry sneaks back to the science fair room. Peeking through the door, he wonders if this is all the Grey's compound does - create smoke. He enters and dons a gas mask. As he steps forward, he sees the contents of the room floating in the air. "Gravity," he realizes, thinking to himself that the Greys cannot survive in Earth's gravity. They do not want to destroy the Earth, but change its atmosphere and gravitational pull so only they can survive and have it to themselves.
