On the series Resident Alien, Harry Vanderspeigle and Goliath (an alternate form of Vanderspeigle) are members of an alien species, which has yet to be named. This species sends Harry Vanderspeigle on a mission to kill the Earth's entire population using a special device.
Home Planet[]
In "Birds of a Feather", Harry says his home star is about 46 light-years away.
In "Old Friends", Harry draws a map of the constellation Ursa Major. The isolated small circle in the lower-left is where Harry identifies his home system.

In "An Alien in New York", based on the map of Goliath's murals, Harry identifies the Mizar/Alcor system as the home star of this species. (Note: this is a 6-star system about 83 light-years away).
According to Harry, it is magnificent, brutal, & freezing.

History & Evolution[]
This species' lineage includes the superorder Octopodiformes, but this species evolved on their home planet, while Octopodiformes evolved on Earth to include species such as the octopus. For this reason, members of these species refer to each other as "cousin".
They have been coming to Earth for thousands of years, guiding humans, including helping humans build Stonehenge & the pyramids. Humans welcomed them for thousands of years, but then humans became more fearful of them and of each other.
It is suspected that they taught aerospace technology to the Quimbaya civilization, but also were responsible for the disappearance of their civilization.
In the early 21st century, they send Harry Vanderspeigle on a mission to eradicate the planet's entire population. When Harry fails the mission, he learns from the octopus named 42 that they will likely send someone else to complete the mission. However, Goliath, a version of Harry returned from the future, reveals to him that their people are not coming as there is already another alien species on Earth planning to take over it. This turns out to be The Greys, whom the other members of Harry's species have willingly ceded the Earth to.
Psychology & Behavior[]
They are capable of telepathic communication via direct contact.
Even at birth, they are very strong and agile, with very sharp chitin teeth that are very good at ripping apart animals. They also have a strong appetite for milk (but not almond milk).
They shed their skin in one piece, which makes it easier to eat. They do not feel any human emotions, therefore they are never worried about each other (even their children).
They leave their offspring in the great ice wind desert, where the flesh is ripped from the bone to see who survives. It is cold enough there to be deadly to this species. Resources are scarce & there is nothing to drink there. Due to this, they kill their siblings to maintain dominance.
They have the ability to produce a sound that confuses what Harry refers to as "intelligent animals", which includes dogs and birds. It sounds like breathing out mixed with a high-pitched squeal.
They have the ability to mimic the appearance of other species via molecular reconstruction, which is the ability to mimic other life forms on the cellular level. This ability can be enhanced via technology (see Alien Ball). A very small number of humans have a genetic trait that allows one to see them in their true form. These humans are genetically more tuned to the frequencies of other dimensions, so they can see beyond my molecular reconstruction. Only 1 in 1 million humans have this genetic mutation that enables them to see through the molecular reconstruction. Any human that can see the true form cannot see the mimicked form. It is possible for them to "turn off" their human appearance at will, allowing others who would normally see them as human to see the alien form.
After taking on the form of a human, it can take weeks to figure out how to make the body work, and months to master the language.
They have no need for sleep, unless they take human form. If they begin sleeping, they will also begin to dream. They have an incredibly high pain threshold.
While in human form, drugs and alcohol have the same effect as they do in humans. In addition, if they take LSD, they also lose their molecular reconstruction, returning to alien form. The effect is temporary; once the LSD wears off, they regain the molecular reconstruction they had previously. They also lose their molecular reconstruction if they are severely injured; it is restored once they regain health.

They have the ability to modify human memories. This ability is retained even when taking human form.
They have an alien language, which they all use.
They have the ability to create crop circles by waving their arms.
They seem to not posses any bones, making them invertebrates (like octopi)
Technology[]
They have the ability to create spaceships traveling faster than light, capable of quickly crossing vast interstellar distances. These spaceships also have cloaking abilities, as well as the ability to transform into alien balls with special properties that can be used as a survival kit. They are also capable of constructing a device capable of wiping out all organic life of a particular species on an entire planet. Despite, however, their contempt of other races, they have never been able to figure out the technology used by other alien races that creates portals through time and space. They are capable of utilizing previously created portals, though apparently pretty much anyone can.
Beliefs about Humans[]
According to Harry, his people have the following beliefs about humans:
- Dangerous
- Biggest weakness is their need for connection
- Lonely
- Invented dogs for companionship
- Insistence on gathering together in groups to eat food
- The leading cause of death in humans is almond milk
- Less intelligent than lizards
- The need for sleep is an example of humans being weak and inefficient
- Pathetic for letting their emotions dictate their behavior
- Delicate for having a low pain threshold
- Live to consume and their appetites are endless
- Their infants are the only mammal whose main attribute is helplessly flopping
- Their children are a pestilence that are not so much born as replicate like a virus and with it being illegal to make them work, they are like gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe. However, they learn from those around them and without nurturing parents to guide them, they become lost, but the are still those who can find their strength.
- His people have a joke about humans: "What is the best way to cloak a ship above Earth? You do not need to because humans are afraid to look up." He, however, no longer believes this, having learned that humans are capable of surprising bravery.
Beliefs about Other Species[]
Harry expresses the following impressions of other species:
- Pandas - dumb
- Lizards - dumb
- The Greys - They are insidious assholes. They have an ass fetish, shoving things up people's butts. The only use they have for humans is to probe their "elimination holes." Being mistaken for a Grey is a major insult.
- The Arcturians - Jerks, so cheap.
- Little Green Men - They are cute, but they so know it.
- The Mantids - One of them owes me money.
- The Blue Avians - They’re actually very nice and are also very beautiful for those attracted to bird faces.
- The Insectoids - They do not squash. They like to eat other beings while they are still alive and struggling.
- Alpha Draconians - They are dangerous; not the same way as Greys are, but they are good at disguising themselves. They are egotistical chicken dicks.
Anatomy[]
These organisms exhibit an asexual reproductive system, lacking distinct genders. Their integument lacks scales, presenting a unique dermal structure. Remarkably, they possess four limbs, with two resembling human arms and an additional pair of smaller appendages situated on the abdomen. The abdominal region contains dentition. Each foot is supported by three small pads, facilitating locomotion. And they posses no bones. Their reproductive capabilities are extraordinary, enabling the birth of numerous offspring in a single instance, though this process inevitably leads to maternal mortality. Mortality is not incurred in an upright position unless the organism undergoes fossilization to produce an egg. Their circulatory system operates in a closed-loop fashion, characterized by blue luminescent blood; however, extended periods in human form result in a transition to red human-like blood. In terms of physical strength, they surpass that of humans significantly. Cold temperatures expedite the recovery process in the event of injury. Furthermore, their lifespan exceeds 500 years.
Cross-species Reproduction[]

If a human female becomes pregnant by one of this species, she starts to emit a sulfuric scent and then split open with hundreds of babies. If one of this species becomes pregnant by a human, they fossilize and a single egg forms inside the fossilized corpse; the egg hatches about 6 months later.
