Kayla is a character in the science fiction comedy television series Resident Alien. She is portrayed by Sarah Podemski.
Character overview[]
Kayla is a cousin of Asta Twelvetrees. She has a young daughter named Sage. Kayla and Asta have known each other for a long time and are close friends. When Harry Vanderspeigle reveals that Asta is the mother of Jay, Kayla seeks Asta out after she runs off. Although Asta is worried that she messed things up badly, Kayla tells her that she admires her for putting Jay's needs ahead of her own.
She is a lawyer or legal professional of some type, though she states to Asta that her area is not criminal law. She aids Kate in getting an injunction against her husband, Ben, to prevent a resort from being built on the Grady property in Patience.
After Asta and D'arcy bring Kate Hawthorne's child, Daisy, to the Ute Reservation to try to protect her from the Greys, Kayla realizes that she is Kate's baby. She confronts Asta regarding this, and Asta reveals the whole truth, including Harry's alien nature and that Jay does not know the truth.
